Man dies in tragic accident in Callander woods

A 59-year-old man has died after suffering serious injuries in an accident at Brig o’ Turk, Callander.

The victim been named as Ewen MacGregor of Strathyre. He was working with colleagues felling trees in the area at around 4.30pm on Wednesday 8th February when he was fatally injured by a large vehicle used for the extraction of timber.

Mr MacGregor was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police and the Health and Safety Executive are carrying out an investigation into the circumstances.
